Academic and Professional Lead for Masters Programmes
Katie is the programme lead for our five Masters in Education Programmes. She also tutors on the NASENCO and iSENCO qualifications. She has worked within numerous educational settings for over a decade as a teacher, a SENCO and a member of the Senior Management Team and holds a Masters Degree in Educational Research Practice from the University of Cambridge.
During her time spent as a SENCO and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Katie put in place strategies to support a large number of pupils in the school with EAL and led a specialist unit for pupils with complex needs, including physical disabilities. She has considerable experience working closely with multi-agency teams such as CAHMs and social services. After being seconded to support a local primary school, Katie helped to turn around SEND provision as they transitioned out of special measures.
Katie has devoted her time to mentoring NQTs, as well as coaching SEND practitioners and is passionate about delivering better SEND provision in schools.
