Professional Practice Manager – Dyslexia Assessment
Jessica is an experienced teacher, teacher trainer and specialist assessor with APC and ATS. She has worked in several schools in the UK and internationally, teaching and assessing across the age range from Early Years to A-level.
Her recent school experience includes working as a SENDCo and Specialist Teacher Assessor at schools in London. During this time, Jessica was part of an SpLD Working Party which produced local authority SpLD/Dyslexia policy.
Jessica is passionate about contributing to the field of dyslexia and enabling dyslexic individuals to achieve their potential. While completing her Master of Education with Queen’s University Belfast, Jessica undertook research into spelling development in dyslexia for her dissertation, which she then presented at the British Dyslexia Association International Conference.
Jessica has subsequently delivered a number of training events and conference talks on dyslexia assessment and teaching. She was also a member of the Delphi panel, contributing to the updated definition of dyslexia in the UK.
In her current role as Professional Practice Manager – Dyslexia Assessment and Module Leader for Dyslexia Professional Report Writing, Jessica develops and tutors on modules relating to the theory and assessment of dyslexia.
