Co-founder of Real Group and Real Training
Dr. Mark Turner is Co-founder of Real Group and Real Training. His journey began not in a boardroom, but in the classroom.
As a primary school teacher and then a SENCO, Mark witnessed firsthand the challenges teachers face and the transformative power of exceptional inclusive teaching.
Mark went on to qualify as an educational psychologist (EP), progressing to a senior role that saw him work closely with school leaders across London and Kent and mentor other EPs.
Wanting to multiply the impact that could be made, Mark Co-Founded Real Training in 2004 alongside fellow psychologists, Siobhan Mellor and Alan Macgregor.
Real Training, a division of Real Group, was established with the aim of providing senior leaders, teachers and SEN specialists with the skills and confidence to lead and deliver inclusive education by embedding outstanding communities of practice around both mental health and SEND provision.
Mark writes, publishes and speaks at conferences and is the Life President of NurtureUK, a charity he co-founded with Marrion Bennathan. He was also previously a senior tutor and researcher on the UEL Educational Psychology Doctoral Training course for many years.
Mark continues to be a practising educational psychologist as well as a school governor. He is dedicated to improving the wellbeing and confidence of vulnerable young people and those who support them.
