ELSA supervision package

Once you become a qualified Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), you will require regular group supervision with an Educational Psychologist. These group supervision sessions enable you to:

  • Reflect on your work as an ELSA
  • Further develop your skills and competence
  • Develop and maintain a support network of peers
  • Share best practice, advice, tips and resources
  • Discuss any problems or concerns in a confidential setting

Our team of Educational Psychologists offers an ongoing supervision package for ELSAs.

What’s included in the ELSA supervision package?

  • The supervision sessions will be facilitated by an experienced Educational Psychologist, who is an approved ELSA trainer
  • You’ll attend 6x two-hour sessions (one each half term). These will be delivered live online and covers a 12-month period
  • The sessions are held in a group, comprising up to 8 trained ELSAs

How much does it cost?

The supervision package costs £515 + VAT per ELSA and covers x6 two-hour sessions over a 12-month period.

Am I eligible?

To participate in this ELSA supervision package, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed (or almost completed) ELSA training
  • Be actively delivering ELSA interventions

Although this supervision package is designed for ongoing supervision of ELSAs who complete the Specialist TA apprenticeship with our sister company, Educational and Sporting Futures, bookings can also be accepted from ELSA professionals trained by other providers. This means, if there are others in your setting who are already qualified, you could choose to receive supervision together.

When does the ELSA supervision package start?

You’ll have a choice of three start dates (September, January and June) for your ELSA supervision package.

September 2025October – December 2026January 2027

*Exact dates for sessions are to be confirmed nearer the time but are likely to be Thursdays at 2-4pm

How can I book the ELSA supervision package?

Book now to secure the 2024/25 prices and your place in the group.

We won’t invoice you straight away – but it lets us know that you would like to join our supervision sessions and enables us to contact you nearer the start date to confirm dates and times for the sessions, allocate you a group and introduce you to your EP supervisor.

Please note that a package will only run if we have a minimum of 4 ELSAs per group. In the event that minimum numbers are not met, you will be informed with as much notice as possible so that you can arrange alternative supervision.

Book using our online booking form.

  • In section 1, you will need to select from the dropdown that you have completed ELSA training. You should select this even if you haven’t yet completed your training, but will have completed it by the time the supervision package starts
  • In section 2, find and select “ELSA Supervision Package” (the quickest way to find this option is by selecting the tab called ‘Mental Health and Safeguarding’)

Your school* will then be invoiced and you’ll be contacted by a member of our team to progress your booking and help you prepare for your first supervision session

* Depending on whose details you provide as the invoice contact

What happens if I don’t receive regular supervision?

Unfortunately, if you do not attend regular supervision sessions, or you are not delivering ELSA interventions on a regular basis, you risk being deregistered as an active ELSA professional.
