Module Leader – Maths Teaching
Catherine is a module leader on the Level 7 Certificate Specialist Teaching for Maths-Related Difficulties and the Postgraduate Programme in Dyslexia and Literacy. She has worked with Real Training’s sister company, Dyslexia Action, on their postgraduate courses for 20 years.
She is a chartered psychologist and has experience in conducting assessments for literacy difficulties in children and adults as a consulting psychologist with Dyslexia Action and the Centre for Reading and Language at the University of York
Catherine has a PhD in Psychology from the University of York. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, where she teaches developmental psychology and supervises research projects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is interested in how maths skills develop, and how individual differences in language and cognitive skills can play a role in maths difficulties.
